Love the post! I so want to run in to Garage Sale Goddess. I think I might have dated her brother once. The guy always talked about himself in 3rd person. It just makes me laugh. Your discription of your day sound like my friend Donna and I. The last time we were on a bad garage sale day we started making bets about the next sale based on the sign. Antiques???? What kind of antiques? Person closest to right gets to pick the lunch spot. Collectables??? What kind of collectiables??? Loser buys Diet Cokes. It made for a very interesting day.
The people who drive their cars right up to the sale, jump out , wonder around, BS and leave their car parked in the way and running drive me nuts. Are you really in that much of a hurry?

Ha! We have Annoying Jewelry Guy here, too. He’s actually been run off people’s property and told never to come back. And I get to call him “friend”. Better friend than enemy.

Oh man, the sales are winding down here in Portland, Oregon. Still a great post. It is really crazy how you label those regular people you see each week (they are usually odd people as well) Love the garage sale goddess and annoying jewelry guy….I think we have their evil twins here as well!

A bad day of sales still makes for a thoroughly enjoyable blog entry!
The Garage Sale Goddess has the right attitude- she reminds me of the random stranger who, (after friendly g-sale banter,) bought ME a sassy berry colored skirt at a sale, because, “Honey- you can work it, and it suits your personality!” I still cherish that skirt!

Ha! I guess I didn’t make it entirely clear that he wasn’t actually pro-McCain … he was just making a joke … even so, I think the Leary book actually may have belonged to one of the other sellers. So apparently the Hadron supercollider hasn’t actually messed with reality too much just yet!
